Can you create art from the ashes of tragedy? Lata Pada is trying. Her latest work, Revealed By Fire, is inspired by the loss of her husband and two daughters in the infamous 1985 Air India bombing disaster. Pada and photographer Cylla von Tiedemann have worked on the multimedia piece for the past two years, but Pada's lived with it for 16. Images from India and Canada infuse the work, with a text by Judith Rudakoff. But all eyes will be on performer Pada as she uses the 2000-year-old tradition of Bharata Natyam dancing to work her way through grief and sadness toward transformation.
