20. Fringe Freebies

Yes, Fringe tickets are inexpensive, at $10 or less. But you don’t have to put down a cent to enjoy the Fringe Club’s late-night shows, most of which start at 10 pm.

Dance Umbrella Ontario throws a party (July 2), and Fringe vets the Rumoli Brothers host an evening (July 3).

You’ll find more comedy from Monkey Toast (July 5) and Bad Dog Theatre (July 6 and 10), music by Andrew Penner and friends (July 4), a cabaret by the Paprika Festival’s under-21 artists (July 7), plays by young writers under 11 (July 8) and another cabaret evening, Crapshoot, presented by Elephants in the Room (July 9).

Got your own story to tell? Contribute to the Most Interesting Person In The World Competition (July 11). The late-night series wraps up with a reading of the winning work in the Fringe’s 24-Hour Playwriting Contest (July 12).

Lots of choice here, and best enjoyed with a beer and a snack.
