This show includes seven short choreographed works each displaying an explosion of urban styles performed by amazingly agile and creative young dancers – about two dozen of them in total.

The troupe includes the talented and engaging Amadeus “Primal” Marquez, a performer and the creator of an emotional piece entitled Good People/Bad Things. He also serves as the show’s emcee, offering brief explanations about the dancers and their complex moves which include many styles: locking, breaking, krump and waacking, a dance first popularized on Soul Train in the 70s but lately making a resurgence.

Other standout pieces include Heroes by a group called Footnotes Elite, and a striking solo performed to the Prince song, The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker entitled A Siren Sound. Marquez encourages photos and tweets, and compels the audience to “be loud and make noise,” a natural reaction while watching these lithe dancers express their individual personalities so joyously.
