Some impressive Toronto performers have migrated north for a production of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance Of Being Earnest.

The Sudbury Theatre Centre’s new head, George Pothitos, directs Mark Ellis, Catherine McNally, Glyn Thomas, Jennifer Gould and Toronto newcomer Kristen van Ginhoven in the classic comedy. Van Ginhoven’s set to appear in an Equity co-op production of Hamlet at Canadian Stage in December.

Applauding last Friday’s opening were Ellis’s wife, actor/filmmaker Stephanie Morgenstern, and McNally’s husband, actor Robert Kennedy. The production runs to October 15.
