Are you a young writer with a script or an idea for an innovative theatre project? The Tarragon is hosting the second annual Paprika Fest, devoted to new, short works by artists under 21. The March event is both curated and created by young people in a professional environment. Last year’s festival premiered Emily Sugerman’s and Charlotte Corbeil-Coleman’s The End Of Pretending, which went on to be a SummerWorks hit. Fringe Festival organizers are now accepting scripts for the fourth annual New Play Contest. Scripts must be original and unproduced, 90 minutes or shorter, and the writer must not have received funding to create or workshop the play. One entry per writer entry fee $25. The winner gets $300 and a slot in the Fringe two other scripts get cash prizes. Last year’s winner was the impressive Fish/Wife.
