Still Good enough

The already strong script The Good Life has a chance to get stronger at an upcoming reading in which writer/director Daniel Brooks joins Laura de Carteret , Kate Hennig , Luke Kirby , Diego Matamoros and Elana McMurtry . Kirby and McMurtry return to their roles, Kirby from the Tarragon premiere and McMurtry from the Calgary production directed by Kevin McKendrick , which won a Betty Mitchell Award for outstanding production.

It’s the first presentation by Necessary Angel since Brooks became artistic director, and the reading marks the company’s 25th anniversary. See One-Nighters for details.

Mighty McNally

A trio of Canadian classical actors – Michael Krek (Macbeth), Patrick Garrow (Burn This) and Catherine McNally – participated in an international residency program at the newly rebuilt Globe in London. McNally – an actor as well as a director who’s worked at Stratford, CanStage, Shakespeare in the Rough, Factory and Theatre Passe Muraille – also picked up the centre’s first Women In Shakespeare Award. Hmmm… When is someone going to hire her to direct here?
