This ensemble experimental dance piece begins casually enough, the cast assembling around a table as if they’re getting together for a dinner party. For the first 10 minutes they chit-chat, pass around food and share drinks, making for a fly-on-the-wall experience.
Things get interesting when the group begins to collectively control the din of their banter and gradually disassemble the realistic facade. Building up their babble with spastic group movements set to cool beats performed live, they get to the heart of the piece: a battle royale confessional where each member attempts to relay intimate stories from their lives while others violently wrestle away the mic.
It’s an intriguing commentary on ego and the art of conversation.
