This multidisciplinary show by Architect Theatre, a look at the controversy over the Northern Gateway Project, uses the voice of Yvonne Lattie, hereditary chief of the Gitxsan nation, interviewed during the government hearings that took place over whether or not the pipeline should be built.

Under director Anita Rochon, performers Georgina Beaty, Paula-Jean Prudat and Jonathan Seinen are largely silent during the show, but they and projectionist Jesse Orr provide striking visuals of what’s discussed, including loss of native land and heritage, boxes of reports and an old woman who holds a key to the past.

The show, imagistic, suggestive and thoughtful, is political without being a tirade. It ends with a chance for the audience to discuss the show with the actors and enjoy a cup of soothing tea, which contains the same traditional ingredients found in Lattie’s teapot.
