This two-CD set compiles some of the best releases from the Peacefrog catalogue. It’s a rich and varied collection of mainly American techno and house, with a special focus on Detroit. Considering that there are 23 tracks here, there’s an impressive lack of filler. Highlights include Theo Parrish’s experimental, minimalist house Moodyman’s chopped up, atmospheric Mahogany Brown and Norma Jean Bell’s Your Perfect. It’s surprisingly cohesive given the range of styles presented — everything from hard techno, jazzy house and ambient to experimental.
