It’s not easy being the third man in a crew that boasts Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q, two emcees whose debut studio albums both charted in the top five on Billboard. But Ab-Soul is up for the challenge. Earlier this year, he took steps toward crossover success with his well-received These Days… album. And when the rapper touches down in Toronto in October, it’ll be his first time here as a solo headliner, giving him an opportunity to prove he has the superstar gravitas of his labelmates.
