AL TUCK

Rating: N

AL TUCK The New High Road Of Song (Brobdingnagian) Rating: NHaligonian hipster Al Tuck discovers post-rock, and along with it a useful excuse for lazy songwriting. Why bother labouring over those difficult verse/chorus structures when vague impressions can simply be repeated over meandering grooves? Song titles like Killing Time, Not A Lot Of Laughs, When It Rains and Drowsy Sleeper are a good indication of the dreariness in store. Wire subscribers are bound to embrace Tuck as the Canuck Bill Callaghan, with John McEntire dub mixes sure to follow.TIM PERLICH
