Some people on the internet are in an uproar following the Oscars this weekend.

Angela Bassett was trending on Twitter after losing in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at this year’s 95th Academy Awards.

Movie fans were upset with the award celebration and believed Bassett was snubbed on Sunday after losing the award to Jamie Lee Curtis for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Bassett was visibly heartbroken and could not get herself to applaud when her name wasn’t called.

Many online pointed to her powerful performance as Queen Ramonda in the Black Panther saga, sharing videos of the movie across social media.

The internet came to the actress’ defence and believed her emotions and reactions were justified.

Meanwhile, others felt she was a sore loser.

Bassett may not have gotten the recognition she wanted but she got the love she deserved from fellow actors.

Black Panther co-star Micheal B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors gave Bassett some encouragement while presenting a different award.

“Hey, Auntie. We love you,” they said on stage.
