Anti-Semitic Rerun

Rating: NNNNN

eustace mullins, the u.s.-based author whose Toronto speaking engagement at Total Health 2001 was cancelled in mid-March after Jewish groups charged that his writings are anti-Semitic, may be coming to T.O. after all.

But Sumari Seminars, a New Age group organizing an event at the Lithuanian Community Centre on Bloor West June 4 and 5, doesn’t want the public to know about it, presumably fearing it will be shut down if news of the event leaks out.

Instead, e-mails sent out by the group to its members say only that the Toronto event will include a “world expert on the banking system.” Mullins?

The author of The Secrets Of The Federal Reserve and other one-world, Jewish-led conspiracy literature, is coincidentally scheduled to speak at another Sumari-affiliated event at the Hotel Renaissance in Montreal two nights earlier. There, Mullins will be appearing with David Icke, another who’s been accused by Jewish groups of promoting anti-Semitism. Icke is also on Sumari’s Toronto bill.

Loreta Stirbys, a spokesperson for the group, says it’s nobody’s business who’ll be speaking at the Toronto event. “This is a private event.” Stirbys then launches into an invective-spiced diatribe about how we’re losing our freedoms in Canada.

Mullins did not respond to a request for comment.

A spokesperson for the Lithuanian Community Centre says he has no idea who Sumari is bringing in to speak. “They were looking for space to rent, and we rented it.”
