Why are concert film directors so in love with that faraway crane shot that floats over the audience and swings down to the stage? And when you’ve got a star who looks like Beyoncé, why would any director ever want a camera more than 10 or so feet from that star?
Otherwise, this is a tremendous show from Wembley Stadium, with Beyoncé in huge voice and a 5.1 audio track that puts the viewer 10th row centre. The repertoire includes Naughty Girl, Fever, Dangerously In Love, a quick medley of Destiny’s Child hits and a blistering encore of Crazy In Love. The DVD package includes about 45 minutes of backstage stuff, the show-stopping live version of Crazy In Love from the Brit Awards and a CD with three new songs and remixes of Crazy In Love, Baby Boy and Naughty Girl.
