Chris Coculuzzi & Roxanne Deans

Chris Coculuzzi and Roxanne Deans have a string of Fringe credits going back more than a decade, as driving forces behind productions of Shakespeare’s Sports Canon (Coculuzzi) and Lear’s Daughters and Cloud Tectonics (Deans). They collaborated on a fine outdoor version of Cyrano De Bergerac in the 2004 Fringe.

They’re back with Piecing Together Pauline, a look at charismatic 19th century opera singer Pauline Viardot, who pioneered the idea of the combination of modern artist and career businesswoman.

Elva Mai Hoover and Kristen Zaza both play Viardot, who influenced the lives of George Sand, Frederic Chopin and Ivan Turgenev, among others.

From July 5 at the Tarragon Mainspace.
