Dreams from my democratic supporters

Of all the hype spillage into Canada from American Obamaniacs and Clintonistas, these two sites are probably the most imaginative. Both collect and post reader’s dreams – that’s sleeping dreams, not other kinds of dreams – of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, along with a quick background on the dreamer.

The woman who dreamed up this project is Toronto’s own Sheila Heti, who mentions on the sites she got the idea from a friend who saw Hillary Clinton in her sleep.

So far, Snoop Dogg makes an appearance in an Obama dream while cocaine plays a role in a Hillary dream. And like many of the dreams, the aforementioned have some connection to reality. One assumes these dreams are up for interpretation, and, so, one will interpret: One dreamer views Obama as the hip-hop candidate, which he has passively campaigned as, and the other sees Clinton as motherly or a voice of responsibility (in the Clinton dream, she scolds the dreamer for snorting the last line of cocaine). This seems to coincide with the stated goal of the project, to discover how we (not the royal we, but Americans) subconsciously view the two most popular Democratic candidates in recent history.
