Farewell, |FAT|

Bodyscapes was the theme Thursday night at |FAT|, Toronto’s non-corporate fashion and art week.

As NOW walked in the door we were warned of extreme nudity, but nothing could have possibly braced us for what was to come. Men’s exposed mesh underwear – that means see-through, which is also synonymous with yuck.

Cadences Bridges Ballet opened the evening with their dance performance of II I. Choreographed by Kyra Jean Green the movements were transfixing as three dancers moved down the runway like robots who knew how to break dance and arabesque.

Then we saw more of the male body than we care to talk about.

The breakthroughs of the night were Zent by Zent Keymole – think A Single Man, Tom Ford’s directorial debut all 60s mashed with kaleidoscope prints and colours – followed by Worth, by David C. Wigley who collaborated with Dylan Uscher Toronto’s up-and-coming knit guy. The collection was all William Wallace and shiny shorts – so, like, good.
