Her blossoming (and horrifying) romance with Def Jam “Boss” Rick Ross might help the long-?awaited Black Roses LP get pushed properly. Meanwhile, this “mixtape album” decently whets the appetite.
Witty references to her “swollen titties” and temporary deafness are cool, but the self-?referential content should reveal more gritty details. Really, Brown should be huge in Canada her blunt-?smoke-thick Trini chatter and chemistry with Lady Saw and Spragga Benz give her BK swagger an edge no one else has. Plus, nothing certifies street cred like sound bites of your crime headlines dropped between verses on a title track.
