Happening NOW: April 1, 2010

What’s happening April 1, 2010:

It’s not an April Fool’s Day joke – Ontario has 10,000 more people on the public sector’s sunshine list compared to last year. That’s the list of people making $100,000 or more. More can mean a couple of million if you’re Ontario Power Generation’s chief or nearly a mil if you’re Matthew Teitelbaum, the AGO’s CEO. No wonder they need fundraisers.

Yes, the AGO’s Massive Party is next week. It’s usually super fun.

Oh great! Harper has changed (read: killed) rules around full environmental assessments. The “red tape” of going through full careful checks is just getting in the way of open pit mines and whatever other dirty businesses are in bed with this government. They snuck it into the budget, so nobody in opposition has the balls to have an election over this sad move.

Not to be outdone by bad environmental news, Obama has flipped positions on off-shore drilling. So, now he’s cool with it and people are mad.

At least if Obama isn’t doing amazing things, thanks to this funny Photoshop project somewhat in the spirit of Selleck Waterfall Sandwich, he’s looking at amazing things.[rssbreak]
