Dear Cardinal, I am sorry for flaking out on eschatology classes as of late, but what news from the Americas! As per your wishes, I’ve been hanging around the youth of today, trying to understand their music and culture. I’ve come across something of interest: a youth rocker band that plays what I can only describe as “apocalyptic indie rock.” They’re called Lullabye Arkestra, from right here in Toronto, and as I’ve said, their music puts one in mind of the end times, perhaps with dashes and sprinkles of classic “soul” music as well. They are quite good – if a little scary, obviously. Now, thankfully, if the heavens ever part in fury, we’ll know what to put on the stereo. Sincerely, Aloysius of Hipsterland.

Arkestra play the Tranzac Friday and Saturday (October 6 and 7).
