Culture Stage

Lynne Griffin

BROTHER ANDRE’S HEART From today (Thursday, July 7) at Tarragon Extra Space. See listing.

Lynne Griffin has a mile-long resumé of stage and screen credits that includes King Lear (opposite Peter Ustinov), the cult Canadian horror film Black Christmas and the upcoming filmed-in-T.O. Daniel Craig movie Dream House.

Recent stage appearances are rare, however, so it’ll be fascinating to watch her fine comic timing in Brother Andre’s Heart, a 1992 work by another industry veteran, playwright Linda Griffiths.

Griffin plays a Portuguese grandmother who sends two aspiring filmmakers and sci-fi nerds on a mission to steal the titular relic from a basilica on Mount Royal. May the Force (or should that be farce?) be with her.
