Album reviews Music

Ministry

Rating: NNN

Paul Barker, Al Jourgensen’s partner in Ministry, left a couple of years ago, and I’m actually stoked on the results, which are basically all the heavy parts of Ministry, complete with 10-years-later George Bush Jr. vocal samples, a chopped-up version of Carmina Burana and clean, screaming guitars with thudding percussives behind them. This puts KMFDM to shame and makes me forgive Al for giving goths pride. Some of it sounds like Jesus Built My Hot Rod, some of it sounds like NWO, and it all sounds like the soundtrack to a rave scene in a bad syndicated TV show based on a cult movie. A Killing Joke/Ministry revitalized relic tour must occur, and soon.
