TIMID glass designers Aaron Oussoren and Sally McCubbin have launched an online store for their collection of designer housewares. Timid.ca sells the duo’s crystal-shaped lemon reamers, holy water flasks, multicoloured Chip & Dip bowls and tread-textured reversible platters. Prices range from $40 to $550.

Nice tats

Simon Carter (754 Queen West, 647-428-7545, simoncarter.net) has a solution for dandy guys who dig tattoo art but would never dream of getting inked. A new collection of cufflinks recreates iconic symbols like anchors, swallows, skulls and hearts in chrome and crystal. Who knows? A set might inspire you to go under the needle.

Fair exhibition

The Royal Ontario Museum’s (100 Queen’s Park, 416-586-5549, rom.on.ca) Institute for Contemporary Culture has announced that London’s Vanity Fair Portraits exhibit at the National Portrait Gallery will come to the ROM from September 26 to January 3, 2010. Regular photo contributors to fashion rags including Bruce Weber, Mario Testino, Herb Ritts and Helmut Newton all have pictures in the show, which catalogues work from 1913 to 2008.
