No Warning

Rating: NN

On the opening track and at various other moments on Suffer/Survive, No Warning tease the listener slightly by delivering straight-up moshy, metallic hardcore that does what it’s supposed to do. However, the “aggro band branches out in tandem with signing to a larger label” syndrome has befallen this Ontarian act. After the first song, things get a whole lot more melodic, with frustrating results – mainly because NW’s idea of melodic is closer to Linkin Park than to the Descendants. This may satisfy people in Florida and viewers of the MuchLoud satellite channel, but it isn’t likely to win over cynics from the hardcore scene.
