Organizers of the 35-day arts and culture festival that ran alongside the Pan Am/Parapan Am Games have pronounced the event a success.
Panamania featured free outdoor concerts by Austra, Charles Bradley, Janelle Monáe, the Flaming Lips and the Roots, among others, at Nathan Phillips Square and other sites that were attended by more than 750,000 people.
In all, there were 250 events that included 343 hours of live music, more than 12,000 pieces of pyrotechnics shot off during nightly fireworks displays choreographed to Serena Ryder’s theme song, Together We Are One, and more than 1,300 artists involved.
