WHY: Since 1974, Till’s been shooting concerts for NOW. While that alone gives him considerable experience behind the lens (as well as associated expertise in earplug quality), what sets this photojourno apart is what he does after leaving the venue. Till puts a different spin on his subjects by assembling several images of one musician into an elongated frame. The result is a rock-star montage that reverberates like guitar licks through a packed arena.
BUZZ: Up-close vintage pics of David Byrne, Iggy Pop and Nick Cave epitomize retro-rock glamour, while black-and-whites of M.I.A. and the Kaiser Chiefs offer classic takes on today’s hot tickets.
