PRETTY RICKY

Rating: N

These Miami-based R&B dudes have some of the most ridunkulous names in R&B, including Spectacular and Pleasure. But they also just locked down last week’s number-one Billboard spot, so they must be doing something right… right? The foursome’s second album starts with their assertion that “he can’t hit it like this, he can’t stroke you like that” (aka one of the most played-out themes in radio R&B), setting the tone for the rest of the album. Over gooey keyboards and bouncin’ drum programming, the singers/rappers ooze with lust, their minds on one track. But Pretty Ricky just sound desperate by the time they plead for you to Stay or try to make it happen by applying the Peer Pressure on this continuous sonic dry hump.
