REVEREND HORTON HEAT

Rating: NNNN

Still the same country psychobilly rock ‘n’ roll, everyone’s favourite fingerpickin’ reverend has not yet decided to pull a fast one and go all alternative, electronic or orchestral on yer ass or change his tune in any way. Praise the Lord! This is a man who remains true to his Hellraisin’ Texas heart. The usual scorchin’ hotrod guitar goes into overdrive, with some excursions into classic hillbilly and surf territory. The track Galaxy 500 just may be to Lucky 7 what Bad Reputation was to 92’s Smoke ‘Em if You Got ‘Em: a gem. Sermon On The Jimbo is as praiseworthy as it is uplifting. Music for your shotgun wedding.
