Rock Against Bush

Rating: NNN

Fat Wreck’s latest attempt to get the punk vote works out again. But it’s not apparent what immediate association songs like the live version of Jawbreaker’s Chesterfield King or Angry Samoan’s Gas Chamber (here covered by the Foo Fighters) have with political activism. Other bands on the comp include the Dwarves, Dropkick Murphy, Rancid and Operation Ivy. Like Volume 1, this album wouldn’t be as worthwhile without the DVD loaded with political comedy, including Will Ferrell’s hilarious George W. Bush campaign ad as well as a great clip of Patton Oswalt explaining why he thinks Bush II wants to be the last president ever. It may not make people vote, but it will make them laugh and skank.
