Russian Futurists

What Toronto restaurant do you like to eat at before a show?

On an unlimited budget I’d say Splendido, on Harbord, but more realistically, Kom Jug Yuen, on Spadina, for BBQ pork, or Moti Mahal, on Gerrard East, for badass butter chicken. I could list at least 20 places in T.O. I can’t live without.

How do you spend your day off in the city?

Smoking reefer and playing ball hockey. I like Soundscapes but hardly ever make it out that way, and I haven’t bought much music lately. I like to wander around Little India sometimes or drink bro sodas on a patio somewhere.

Hotel of choice?

I like the Drake because the rooms are nice and I know some peeps who work there. I know that’s probably really uncool for anyone except the schmoozing 40-year-olds who seem to clog the Lounge, but they have comfortable beds and good showers.

What do you hate about the city?

It’s humid as fuck in the summer, and it occasionally stinks. I’m a small-town boy, so I like to live like a hick in the summer and get out of town. Fishing and Busch tallboys up in the Peterborough area are just what the doctor ordered.

What’s the wildest time you’re ever had in Toronto?

One time we robbed the band Jet at gunpoint at an after-hours party. The singer almost cried! Good times, good times.
