Sex a bilities

JES SASCHE at Come as You Are (701 Queen West) to June 15. 416-504-7934. Rating: NNN

Jes Sasche turns an autobiographical eye on disabilities to explore sexual representations of differently abled people.

Her images can be comfortably mundane, campy or even lyrical, the camera following her on her daily business riding the subway, dyeing her hair or lounging about with a girlfriend.

Most striking is the sense of unabashed playfulness and fun. Sasche’s freewheeling openness about her intimate life puts most of us to shame, offering an unapologetic, frank look at her life as a fully rounded, sexualized individual.
