What Toronto restaurant do you like to eat at before a show?

I love sushi from Sushi 2 Go at Queen and Spadina. Theres a branch at Royal York and Bloor, near my home, so I often order before I leave the house and take it to the gig.

Where in Toronto do you go after a gig?

I usually go home, but if I feel like dancing I go to the Octapus Lounge at Palmerston and College best dance music around. On Sundays I like to go to the College Street Bar to hear Soular with Dionne Taylor, or to Joe Mamas at King and John to listen to the Blakburns.

Who is your favorite Toronto artist?

Jackie Richardson, because shes my earth mother, soul mother and musical inspiration combined. She embodies what music, art and life are supposed to be full of joy and generosity.

What do you love most about Toronto?

The fact that its my home. Ive travelled all over Europe and the States, and this is the one place I belong to, I where I dont look out of place wherever I am. I love the different neighbourhoods, the different languages and the different cultures we can all share here.

What do you hate about the city?

Weve built too many anonymous condos downtown with too little thought or planning. Until they renovated the northwest corner of Bloor and Bay, it was the ugliest corner in all of Canada.

How do you spend your day off?

I walk my dogs in High Park or down in the Beach . Or I go rock-climbing with my daughters at Joe Rockheads near Dufferin and King.
