Straight-ahead, totally American MOR rock, Wildflower is mostly harmless and a little boring, much like Sheryl Crow’s entire career. It starts off with a few plodding ballads, then the next bunch of songs drag along while Crow keeps her voice light, breathy and girly like she’s running through a field of daisies. The pace picks up a little on Live It Up when Crow gives her signature war cry, that whole “Hey, let’s have a good time!” thing. More meandering brings up the rear, then it’s over. Was there a record playing? Oh right. Didn’t love it. Didn’t hate it. Didn’t really notice it.
