Toronto performers have reacted quickly to the horrors of September 11. Two groups are holding benefits for the Canadian Red Cross in aid of American victims. Broadway North Unites, a cabaret evening of song and dance featuring Ma-Ann Dionisio, Christopher Wilson and others, plays Friday (September 21), 8 pm, at the Factory Studio Cafe (125 Bathurst). Teresa Pavlinek, James O’Reilly, Chris Earle, Shari Hollett, Carole Lempert, Katherine Ashby and Michael Healey are among the theatre and comedy artists participating in What’s So Funny ‘Bout Peace, Love And Understanding?, which turned from a planned evening of new works and readings into a funder for the Red Cross relief fund.
