Agora

3015 Dundas W, at High Park, 416-761-9991. Splendido this ain’t. But a rotating roster of fair trade roasts served in biodegradable cups, a short, mostly organic card and a selection of her mom’s June Cleaver desserts make Ciara Bracken-Roche’s eco-concious café a nice mix of the old and the new. Best: Eggs Tuscany, poached free-range eggs over stewed tomato and peppers, sided with crostini Welsh rarebit sauced with Guinness and sharp Irish cheddar 50s-style cupcakes topped with marshmallow meringue. Open Saturday 10 am to 2 pm. Unlicensed. Access: one step at door, washrooms in basement. Rating: NNN $
