What does style mean to you?

Style is important for a few reasons for me. Number one because there is the whole big taboo about larger women not being able to exude you know, offer, laughter, gorgeous style. I was quite frankly tired of seeing you know disgusting prints or floral carpeting for me to choose from from the regular plus sized stores. I go out of my way to go to Value Village or Black Market or any consignment stores really. It’s so important to me not only cause I’m living downtown and over a size 16, but a lot of young girls really do look up to me. I have to make sure that I come correct or I just don’t come at all. That’s just what it is [she laughs].

What is your personal style?

I’m not the type of person to scoff at something. I at least have to try it on before I judge it. My personal style is edgy uh, edgy couture [she laughs], you know what I mean! It’s like Salvation Army meets you know like, fucking what? Meets West Side story, like the jets [she snaps]. Yeah, that’s perfect, perfect. That’s it!

I feel naked without: earrings. I have to have them on. If I don’t I feel just off, what’s missing. Or this ring, my grandmother before she passed gave it to me. I’m terrible with jewellery I loose it all the time but this is the only thing I keep on at all times. You can see my tan lines.

Favourite part of Toronto?

Oh man. I love Queen West, I love the Parkdale area to find old stuff. And I love Oakville. I know, weird eh? I love it, I’m from Oakville. Those old biddy’s always drop off some old great shit at the GoodWill, SalvationArmy it’s like Jones of New York old goodness, and you’re just like seriously you threw this away? It’s a dollar?!
