Tom Cruise made a surprise stop at a showing of the new Mission Impossible movie at Scotiabank Theatre on Tuesday to an unsuspecting audience of Canadian fans.
In a video shared by KISS 92.5 on Twitter, Cruise can be seen entering the cinema to rapturous applause before thanking the audience for their appreciation.
“ I love you guys,”he said. “It really is such an honour to entertain you.”
Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One hit theatres on July 10 to a cascade of rave reviews, including a 94 per cent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
“Amid its terrific action sequences, comedic wit and — somewhere deep within that — heart, the movie is helping to sound a much-needed alarm,” wrote Candice Frederick of the Huffington Post.

Cruise’s seemingly impromptu visit comes shortly after he called out Toronto for its chronic traffic issues and Mayor Olivia Chow jokingly invited him along to evaluate the state of the roads at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival in September.
