Sports fans in Toronto might have to find alternative transportation to this weekend’s games because of transit service adjustments by Metrolinx.

On Friday and into the weekend, GO train services will be replaced by buses along the Lakeshore West Line while construction work takes place.

“Replacement GO Buses will be available at West Harbour, Aldershot, Burlington, Oakville, Clarkson and Union Station Bus Terminal. Niagara Falls trains will make all regular stops between Niagara Falls GO and Aldershot GO” the transportation agency announced on its website.

And according to a media advisory from MLSE, this will affect transportation around BMO Field and Coca-Cola Coliseum where games are expected, including this Saturday’s Toronto FC match at 7:30 p.m. and Toronto Marlies game at 4 p.m.

Additionally, people should brace for traffic while heading to Scotiabank Arena for the Toronto Maple Leafs game at 7 p.m.

“Note for fans driving that parking on Exhibition grounds is limited. Fans are encouraged to allot longer than usual travel time when taking public transportation and carpooling,” the MLSE said in a statement issued Wednesday.

Aside from replacement buses and driving, additional streetcars and subways will be running too.
