WHEN — Thursday, 7 pm.
WHERE — Four Seasons Hotel.
CLOTHES — “I never go out with the intention to shop, because I don’t need clothes. But no one can escape shopping. Though I go for the femme-fatale look during my performances, my day wear is casual — when I carry around my two children, I’m inevitably covered with finger paint, spit, juice and chocolate. My tank top and boots came from little shops in New York. The $100 mesh jacket was bought at Bloomingdale’s. I usually buy my leather clothing In Berlin’s flea market, but these $300 Joseph pants came from Harrods in London. My bracelets were a gift from an admirer in Toronto who found them at the Harbourfront Antique Market (390 Queen’s Quay West, 260-2626). My marriage ring was bought in Paris and my engagement ring in New York.”
HAIR — “I’m not a natural blond. Scott J. in New York does my colouring and styling.”
STYLE — “Androgynous and athletic.”
UPCOMING — “My new CD, Punishing Kiss, a collection including songs by Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, Philip Glass and Kurt Weill, has just been released in Europe and will be out in North America in April, when I begin touring the U.S. A Toronto gig is scheduled for the fall.”
