Wayhome kicks off this weekend. Performers include: Neil Young, Modest Mouse, Passion Pit, St Vincent, Kendrick Lamar, Alt-J, SZA, Bassnectar, Sam Smith, Run The Jewels and so much more.

July 24-26. Burl’s Creek Park (Oro-Medonte, Ontario) General admission includes camping and full admission for three days. $229-$289.

Aboriginal pavilion

The Aboriginal Pavillion lite up last weekend with a performance by the very talented A Tribe Called Red. This weekend check out performances by up-and-comer Cris Derksen- who’s already made a name for herself internationally, with Quetzal Guerrero, Iskwe and Gabriel Ayala.

Movie Night in the Park: Pitch Perfect

So it’s been a long week and you’re not a part of the hords of people set to travel up to Barrie this weekend for Wayhome. This is a great weekend to hang locally to enjoy some of the other great things to do this weekend, including the Liberty Village Resident’s Association’s presentation of Pitch Perfect in Liberty Village Park. The film begins at sunset (8:30pm). Bring blankets, some snacks and good company for a chill evening filled with laughs and acapella battles.

Beaches International Jazz Festival

Head to the beaches for some great music, awesome food and exiting family fun this weekend at the annual Beaches Jazz fest. Noon to 10 pm. Free.

Beer Festival

This year’s beer fest offers visitors a little more than copious amounts of brews. Enjoy some good eats from the grilling tent and great music by guest performers Naughty By Nature and more.

Pan Am Closing Ceremonies
