The Trapped In The Closet DVD included with R. Kelly's most recent album was easily the highlight of that package. He's wisely decided to follow it up with a DVD-only version that pursues the ridiculous R&B saga all the way to Chapter 12. If you saw the first five parts, you're probably excited to finally see the soap opera cliff-hanger resolved, but Kelly's apparently planning to release more chapters, so he leaves us hanging at the end of this one, too. The story this time is even weirder and more convoluted, but the dialogue isn't integrated as naturally into the music, and stretching one song out this long is a lot to ask of anyone. Kelly's commentary is fairly entertaining, and it's revealed that not all the comedy is unintentional. It's worth checking out, if only to experience the surrealism of an R&B opera about being in the closet (literally and figuratively).
