DESCRIPTION:Come learn about the true origins of body modifications\, do a little hand poking yourself (safely on faux skin)\, and come connect with us! \nThe From Your Ancestor Project is excited to be hosting our first ever Tattoo workshop in collaboration with GLAD DAY LIT who has opened their new location on Lisgar Street! Our goal with this project is to promote multi-media storytelling on Indigenous historical figures and community issues in order to bridge the gaps between rural and urban youths connection to ancestral healing practices.\nCome join us at 32 Lisgar Street for a fun little hand poking tattoo workshop! Hosted on December 11th at 3pm\, From Your Ancestor will be showcasing tattooing as an act of cultural preservation. DESCRIPTION:Reading\, Q&A & Book Signing  \nVenue has ramp and main floor washroom. \nSo what’s “Wait with Me” about?The main character is Jade\, a 24-year-old millennial living in Toronto who is struggling to pay rent and find work while dealing with a dysfunctional family and a sick parent. When Jade starts feeling sick\, she is not sure if it is a mental or physical issue and is encouraged by her best friend to seek help. Jade tries to get help from three different Emergency Departments three nights in a row and is dismissed. Her mental health continues to deteriorate\, and she attempts suicide on the third day\, but still is not taken seriously at the hospital. After her failed suicide attempt\, Jade slowly recovers in the community with the help of friends and a psychiatrist. DESCRIPTION:For the second time in over three decades of supporting artists living with mental health issues and/or addictions\, Workman Arts in collaboration with Strangers in a Tangled Wilderness is publishing a print literary anthology – launching on Sunday\, November 30\, 2025. That’s big news! \nUp:Rising is an unapologetic chorus of Mad voices that refuse to conform or cower in the shadows. It was born from a collaboration between two organizations rooted in community care:  Workman Arts\, a multidisciplinary arts organization supporting artists with lived experience of mental health and/or addictions; and Strangers in a Tangled Wilderness\, a collectively-run publisher of radical culture grounded in anarchist ideals. We invited writers with lived experience of mental health and/or addiction issues from across Canada to send us their stories\, poems\, daydreams\, imaginings\, and manifestos around all the things it can mean to rebel. \nJoin us in-person on 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟯𝟬 to meet the contributing writers and editors\, hear live readings\, and take home your own 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆!
