SUMMARY:Mary\, Mary\, Mary\, Mary
DESCRIPTION:Four women emerge from the desert\, each bearing the same name: Mary. As history folds in on itself\, they raise their voices in a story of faith\, sacrifice\, and rebellion. \nBlending ancient scripture with her trademark incisive\, contemporary wit\, Erin Shields (Here We Are\, Paradise Lost\, If We Were Birds) reclaims the stories of four women who stood at the gates of revolution—only to be sidelined by history. \nA visceral and lyrical reimagining of the gospels’ most enduring icons\, Mary\, Mary\, Mary\, Mary interrogates what happens when four women who bore witness to miracles are finally allowed to speak.

SUMMARY:The Division
DESCRIPTION:From award-winning Ukrainian Canadian writer/director Andrew Kushnir\, The Division puzzles through a family history shaped by war – and what gets carried forward into today’s battle. After publishing a eulogy for his renowned watchmaker grandfather in a national newspaper\, Andrew is confronted by an accusation in the comments section. The charge sends him on a 19\,000-kilometre journey through Ukraine and Europe with daunting questions—and the rare timepiece he’s inherited. Retracing his grandfather’s footsteps as a soldier and immigrant\, he unearths a family mythology that has astonishing implications for the present. \nIn a landscape where history is both weapon and wound\, Andrew’s search pulls him deep into the stories of a shrinking Ukrainian village\, into the fallout of Russia’s full-scale invasion\, and into the silence of the dead. \nOriginally featured at Lincoln Center\, NYC\, The Division is a gripping new work on identity\, legacy\, and the slyness of memory. With his acclaimed blend of documentary theatre and deeply personal storytelling\, Kushnir faces the unspoken truths that shape both our individual and collective histories — and our here and now. Presented by Project: Humanity and Pyretic Productions in Association with Crow’s Theatre.

SUMMARY:American Devotion
DESCRIPTION:By the Word Productions is proud to present the World Premiere of American Devotion\, a play set at Marilyn Monroe’s home at the height of McCarthyism\, which has found unexpected relevance in the time of Trump. American Devotion will run June 3-21\, 2026 at Streetcar Crowsnest Studio Theatre in Toronto in tandem with celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Marilyn Monroe’s Birthday on June 1st. \nAmerican Devotion\, written by Franca Miraglia and directed by Mario D’Alimonte\, stars Holm Bradwell as Arthur Miller\, Misha Harding as Marilyn Monroe and Mark Rittinger as Norman Mailer. \nAmerican Devotion takes audiences back to 1957 to the Connecticut farmhouse shared by Marilyn Monroe and her celebrated playwright husband\, Arthur Miller.
