SUMMARY:Luke Vasjar at DROM Taberna
DESCRIPTION:Luke Vajsar plays original loop style bass music in styles of funk\, jazz\, psychedelic\, lounge.  These are the main genres found in the music\, however one can hear influences from virtually all styles of music.  Luke has  been playing constantly around Toronto neighbourhoods as well as internationally.  He has released over a dozen albums and is always working on taking the music to new places full of colour\, dynamics and surprises.  The story like compositions feature the instrument in a rhythmic and melodic soundscape where one can tune in and listen more closely for the details within.  The groovy vibes help create an atmosphere for a social crowd or for a more focused listen.  Whatever the type of night it may be\, the aim is to create great times for all that get to be there.

SUMMARY:Gandhaar Amin x Dhaivat Jani live at DROM
DESCRIPTION:Gandhaar Amin grew up learning Indian classical music on the Bansuri\, since the age of 4. After spending the first 20 years of his life deeply immersed in this traditional art form\, Gandhaar decided to use this learning to create music that smoothly blends centuries old melodic structures with modern electronic music production. The idea was to bring traditional Indian music to a global audience in a way that can be presented in performance venues and environments available to us today. \nGandhaar has since released multiple EPs and singles\, polishing the unique sound that he discovered through this blending of distinctly different worlds. He has been performing this music as a solo performer and with a band for about a decade. Since moving to Toronto a year ago\, he teamed up with tabla player and drummer Dhaivat Jani\, who fit right in and was the perfect partner to play this music live with. \nThis duo performance brings Indian classical melodies to a western urban audience\, on a platter of groovy beats and lush synths.

SUMMARY:A Band Called Max
DESCRIPTION:A bandcalledmax is a Toronto-based rock & roll trio with influences from Chuck Berry to the Kinks. Featuring Dave Monks (Tokyo Police Club) on guitar\, Nick McKinlay (Motorists) on drums\, and Mike Small (Meligrove Band) on bass\, these three bring a dangerously unskilled yet mysteriously tight show to the stage—somehow always on the verge of collapse but never missing a beat. \nWith two records out and a philosophy of “rock’n’rollin’ and really having fun”\, bandcalledmax keeps it loose\, loud\, and just the right amount of reckless. Expect soaring hooks\, sweaty riffs\, and a commitment to having a stupidly good time—and making sure you do too.
