You can e-transfer to the following email at:torontohistorywalks@gmail.com \nBefore Long Branch became a village in west Toronto\, it was the home of Sam Smith\, one of the earliest settlers in the area. His cabin was located near Etobicoke Creek\, on land given to him for his service in the Queen’s Rangers. \nThe property was bought by James Eastwood in 1871. \nIn 1883 Eastwood sold a portion of his land to be developed as a summer resort called Sea Breeze Park. In 1886\, the site was renamed Long Branch Park\, after the seaside summer resort area of Long Branch\, New Jersey. The central north–south street was renamed Long Branch Avenue from the original Sea Breeze Avenue. \nBut in 1954\, disaster struck the area\, Hurricane Hazel roared down the Creek obliterating all in its deadly path. Today Etobicoke Creek is one of the hidden jewels of Toronto. Given by nature\, this walking trail will surprise\, a story of industry and heartache. \nThis walking tour is for all walking levels.
