SUMMARY:Summer Days: Group Show
DESCRIPTION:June 18 – July 8\, 2026 \nAs the days stretch longer and the world opens up\, the Summer Days group exhibition captures the distinct energy\, warmth\, and reflection of the summer season. This group exhibition brings together 25 of Muse gallery’s artists working across painting\, sculpture\, and mixed media to explore transformation\, vitality\, growth\, the ephemeral nature of light along with themes of rest and rejuvenation. While each artist possesses a distinct visual voice\, his or her work converges here to offer a multi-faceted look at summer. Through their unique use of various media the artists invite viewers to reflect on their relationship to the nature and the passage of time. \nUltimately\, this group summer show serves as both a visual celebration and a conceptual space for dialogue. We invite you to wander through the space\, engage with the diverse narratives presented\, and experience the season through the distinct lenses of these talented creators.

SUMMARY:Dance: Caroline Marshall
DESCRIPTION:May 21 – June 3\, 2026 \n \nDrop by to say hello to the artist Saturday May 23\, 2 pm to 3 pm \nI slap and slide paint from the base of a canvas and move upward with my palette knife. Unrefined segments of various shades and colour rock and roll\, lines intercept blocks and many go beyond the forms they touch. A rhythmic figure appears surrounded by a simple neutral background. The figure is a dancer. It’s limbs flail\, forms jump or twist and the body of my loosely composed figure vibrates with the music it hears. The subject moves alone\, unaware that viewers are watching. \nMy abstract landscapes involve a dialogue or relationship between areas of intensity or excitement on the canvas and ‘space’. The many times I have driven past Outaouais fields and inland roads near Mont Jolie\, Qc. have left their imprint. While still using geometric forms\, the abstract landscapes are based on nature. \nI am interested in non-figurative art and the process of painting. I often use cold wax mixed with my oil paints to add texture and to give forms a more matt surface. I enjoy scraping and layering. While working on a canvas\, I am constantly solving problems. I enjoy taking advantage of mistakes and letting the work have a mind of its own. \nThe process is always a challenge.

SUMMARY:Amy Montgomery: In Generous Places
DESCRIPTION:Reception Sat April 18\, 12 – 2 pm \nApril 18 – May 5\, 2026 \nThis collection draws inspiration from time I have spent in cottage country\, where the landscape offers an abundance of colour\, beauty\, and experience. \nBy punctuating these scenes with unexpected hues to emphasize light and shadow\, I blur the boundaries of time and memory. The shifting palette of water\, sky\, and shoreline becomes less about a specific visit and more about the feeling of being there and the lingering joy it leaves behind. \nThese landscapes reflect the generosity of the places that continue to invite me back. \nMontgomery’s work is playful\, both in process and product. She finds inspiration in daily life and cottage views. Her style and point of view as an artist are influenced by the years she worked as a professional graphic designer and photographer. She enjoys painting expressionistically\, allowing confident\, bold brushstrokes and carefully placed contrasting colours to build unexpected texture and energy. Her goal is to produce spirited\, contemporary art with an air of nostalgia.

SUMMARY:Shared Horizons: Petra Eperjesi & David Lidbetter
DESCRIPTION:Reception Sat Feb 28\, 2 – 4 pm\,   \nFeb 26 – March 15\, 2026 \nIn this duo show titled “Shared Horizons” Petra Eperjesi and David Lidbetter present their perspective on Canadian landscape painting. Petra Eperjesi distils familiar rural landscapes into their simplest shapes. Using hard edges her acrylic painting are rendered in vibrant colours with a playful/wonky perspective. The colours are unconventional and her perspective is often isometric\, resulting in a contemporary\, surreal landscape. David Lidbetter‘s approach which is softer\, observationally traditional\, a modern interpretation of the Group of Seven. Lidbetter’s paintings have an emotional content. The feeling of isolation\, solitude and quiet pervade his works. While the two styles are radically different\, the common denominator is still a vast unmistakable\, unyielding Canadian landscape. We invite the viewer to delve into the contrasting interpretations of landscape painting presented by these two amazing artists.
