Toronto is overflowing with festive energy this weekend, with holiday markets, crafty workshops, family events and cozy community gatherings popping up across the city. 

Whether you’re hunting for unique gifts from local makers, looking to dive into hands-on creativity, or simply hoping to soak up some cheerful winter vibes, there’s something happening in every corner of Toronto. 

Friday, Dec. 12

Holiday Pottery Market

Looking for a cozy, creative break from the holiday rush? Spin Pottery’s Holiday Market (145 St Luke Ln.) is transforming the studio into a festive, artist-made wonderland from 4:30 – 9:30 p.m. Browse shelves of one-of-a-kind ceramics crafted by Toronto makers, treat yourself to quirky pottery merch, and snag gifts you won’t find anywhere else. Buy any handmade mug or cup and you’ll score a free seasonal drink to sip while you wander. With free admission, you can even try your hand at simple pottery hand-building for a little crafty fun.

LOCAL SOUL: A Small Biz Holiday Market 

Soul Provisions (68 Tycos Dr.) is bringing the community together for a two-day holiday market that puts Toronto’s small business scene front and centre, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The event features a curated lineup of women-led makers, including vendors rebuilding after recent shop closures. Shoppers can browse unique locally made goods, meet creators in person, and enjoy perks like free soup and popsicles while they explore. Plus, every purchase at Soul Provisions during the market supports the Toronto Soup Co.’s 2026 Soup Empathy Project. Admission is free.

Midtown’s Gingerbread Lane

Yonge and St. Clair is in full holiday mode with the return of Gingerbread Lane, a neighbourhood-wide trail of whimsical, custom-designed gingerbread storefronts on display. Each stop is created by local bakers, and visitors can vote for their favourite as they stroll. For Friday, swing by 55 St. Clair West from 3 to 7 p.m. for the Holiday Market, where local makers pop up with festive gifts, crafts, and small-batch treats. You can also check out the full lineup of Gingerbread Lane events, from launch night festivities to family programming and a raffle with cash prizes, on the event website.

Saturday, Dec. 13

JingleBam Holiday Market 

Get into the holiday groove at Tyndale University (3377 Bayview Ave) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for JingleBam ’25, Bamtori’s festive marketplace featuring 80 to 100 local artists and makers under one roof. It’s the perfect chance to find handmade jewellery, art, gifts, apparel, treats, and more while supporting Toronto’s creative community and admission is free. Wander the booths, grab unique seasonal goodies, and soak up cheerful holiday vibes with friends and family at this year’s must-visit market. 

The 519’s Winter Market 

Celebrate the season at The 519’s Winter Market, happening from 2 to 8 p.m. in Barbara Hall Park (519 Church St.). The space transforms into an outdoor winter market filled with local makers, festive treats, and family-friendly entertainment. Browse unique holiday gifts crafted by 2SLGBTQ+ artists and creators, enjoy tasty bites and warm drinks from the food tent, and catch live performances — including marching bands, choir sets, and upbeat drag acts that bring extra sparkle to the afternoon. It’s completely free and open to all ages.

Loohoo Weird Holiday Market 

If your gift list leans more eccentric than elegant, the Loohoo Weird Holiday Market is calling your name. Running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1380 Queen St. W., this two-level market is packed with delightfully oddball finds: think quirky ornaments, whimsical art, cheeky trinkets, offbeat crafts, and plenty of wonderfully unconventional holiday gear. Browse the cozy main floor gift shop along with a handful of vendors, then head downstairs to explore the full lineup of makers offering handmade items that are charming, strange, or somewhere perfectly in between. Entry is free.

Bedazzled Keychain Workshop

If you’re hunting for a simple, crafty gift idea, this hands-on workshop has you covered. Join Victoria Stacey of Permission Slip Studios (1865 Davenport Rd.) for a fun Bedazzled Keychain Workshop from 2 – 4 p.m., where you’ll learn how to design and decorate your own sparkling accessories, perfect to keep or gift. For $25, participants receive guided instruction, all materials to make two keychains, plus light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

Village Wonderland

Step into a full day of festive adventure at Village Wonderland, happening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Variety Village (3701 Danforth Ave.) in Scarborough. This annual community celebration transforms the venue into a lively winter wonderland featuring a bustling holiday market, Santa and Mrs. Claus photo-ops, train rides, cookie decorating, inflatables, and family-friendly games.

Admission is $20 per person or $50 for a family of four and all proceeds support Variety’s programs for kids and youth across Ontario.

‘Twas The Night Before Improv

Get some laughs and holiday cheer with this playful take on the classic poem. At 3:30 p.m., head to SoCap Comedy Theatre (154 Danforth Ave, 2nd floor) for ’Twas the Night Before Improv, a short-form improvised show inspired by ’Twas the Night Before Christmas. Expect spontaneous scenes and lots of audience energy as the cast invents festive twists on the spot. The fun continues into a Holiday Jam in the second half of the show, where everyone is invited to join in beginner-friendly improv games. Entry is pay-what-you-can at the door, and all proceeds go to support Daily Bread Food Bank, helping fight food insecurity in Toronto this season.
