Kick off the new year with some fun winter activities that the whole group can enjoy. From museums to free skating, there’s tons to do in the city to start the new year strong.

Friday, Jan. 3:

North American International Motorcycle SUPERSHOW

Bikers of Toronto, here’s your chance to check out one of the biggest motorcycle shows in North America. The North America International Motorcycle SUPERSHOW is taking over the International Centre in Toronto for three days of crazy tricks, classic motorcycles, the Yamaha street stunt team and the wall of death. Tickets are around $27 each.

Winter Skating

Lace up and head on over to the Bentway where you can glide on a 220m outdoor figure-eight skate trail for free. This year, the skating rink is bringing back its free skate rental nights, free hot chocolate nights, Polar Bear Skate, and more. Visitors can bring their own skates or rent ones on-site.

Board Game Night @ CHEFS HALL 

Bring your friends or come solo to board game night at Chefs Hall located at 111 Richmond Street West. The event includes new games, challenges and the opportunity to make new friends. Tickets are roughly $14 each and they include access to a lounge, a collection of board games and on-site game experts who can help.

Saturday, Jan. 4:

Allan Gardens Saturday Farmers’ Market

Check out the very first Allan Gardens Saturday Farmers’ Market of the year from 10 to 2 p.m. There, you can shop for fresh foods such as vegetables, fruits, meats and farm-fresh eggs, while supporting local farmers. The best part is that it’s free to attend.

Come From Away

Catch a theatre production titled Come From Away at the historic Royal Alexandra Theatre. It’s about the story of 7,000 stranded passengers and a small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Tickets start at $59 each and the show begins at 2 p.m.

Winterland – Illuminarium at The Distillery District

It’s the last weekend of Winterland at The Distillery District’s Illuminarium. It’s a 45-minute journey that will take visitors along a winter wonderland that includes the Northern Lights, a holiday village and tons of photo opportunities. Tickets are $39.50 each and it’s open from 3 to 9 p.m.

Sunday, Jan. 5:

All Vinyl Brunch

Listen to some classic tunes on vinyl at Drake Hotel’s vinyl brunch. There, you can munch on a free stack of pancakes and order fun cocktails from build your own Caesars, espresso martini towers to bottomless mimosas. It’s from 9 a.m to 3 p.m.

Union Winter

Head to Union Station where you can experience its elevated roller rink, free roller blading lessons and fun activations, such as roller dance performances and skate nights. It’s happening from 11 a.m and 8:30 p.m. It’s an all-ages event but guests are required to pre-register.

Trivia Night @ Hugs & Sarcasm

Queen Street restaurant Hugs and Sarcasm is hosting a trivia night on Sunday where you can get the chance to win cool prizes. Come prepared to know music, current events and general knowledge. It’s free to participate and the maximum team size is six members. The bar says reservations are recommended as tables fill up quickly. The event begins at 7 p.m.
