From yoga to live music, Trillium Park’s SummerSeries returns with free activities at Ontario Place

Trillium Park has unveiled its free programming for the summer season and it includes tons of activities from outdoor yoga and live music.

The summer series is set to take place at Ontario Place from July 13 to Sept. 1. The programming is fit for all ages and visitors are invited to enjoy the entertainment all summer long. 

Here is the program schedule for the SummerSeries:

Yoga in Trillium Park

Get your zen on with free yoga classes on select Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. until Sept. 29. Each class is approximately 60 minutes and includes a mix of hatha and vinyasa yoga. An instructor will guide students through each class. Every attendee must bring their own mat, water bottle and sun protection.

Mixto Festival – July 13 & 14

For the sixth year in a row, Mixto Festival will unite communities and cultures with two days of live music with DJs from Brazil, Colombia, and Toronto. This festival aims to showcase the diversity within the city and its talented community of artists. There’s going to be music, dancing, children’s programming, food, a bar and art installations. 

Summer Live Music Festival – July 27 & 28

Summer Live Music Festival invites visitors to enjoy two programs, Live Jazz and World Music, coupled with SING! In the Summer. Visitors can expect concerts by four award-winning emerging bands and four A cappella groups, with an impressive range of original music from jazz to pop. 

Wavelength Summer Thing – Aug. 10

The Wavelength Summer Thing festival will highlight inclusive, diverse and rising musicians from different genres, such as indie, hip-hop, electronic, folk and more. This celebration will feature independent music, arts, games, food and beverage, and fire pit hangs. It’s going to be a welcoming space for creatives, artists and the community. 

City Hall Live – Aug. 11 

City Hall Live is a free, family-friendly event that is a year-round music series that puts a spotlight on local musicians and organizations. Its goal is to create opportunities for local bands and provide live music for people across the city. This year’s event will include a Brazilian samba band, a full salsa band, free dance lessons, food and beverage for purchase and artisan vendors. 

The Academy presents – Aug. 17 & 18

The Academy presents curates a unique and memorable experience for visitors. On Aug. 17, there will be a performance competition between three teams, as part of the second edition of THE TEAM UP contest.  These teams will perform an original collaborative set. Afterwards, visitors can gather for an AIRMOVES silent disco party under the Trillium Park pavilion. On Aug. 18, there will be a day party for those who’d like to mingle, snack and appreciate good vibes.

It’s OK* World – Aug. 24 & 25

Visitors are invited to the second annual outdoor free festival, It’s Ok* World. This festival displays the vibrant and diverse talent within Toronto’s Black arts community. The two-day event celebrates art, culture, and community, and acts as a space for Black artists to share their stories. 

Indigenous Sounds Now – Aug. 31 & Sept. 1

Wrap up the summer with an evening of Indigenous music. Indigenous Sounds Now tells the stories of Indigenous people through songs of celebration, joy, sorrow, separation, reclamation, reconciliation, and more. Indigenous Sounds Now offers two free concerts for all ages on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.
