With less than three weeks until Halloween, Google unmasked its most-searched costumes haunting everyone’s browsers this spooky season.

Nostalgia, gaming lore, and unique pop culture have driven this year’s costume searches. Despite “Hocus Pocus” being the top trending movie searched alongside “costume” in Sept., 2025, and the masked Quebec rock band “Angine de Poitrine” as the top trending musical act costume, this year’s top 10 costume searches stick to Marvel, DC, and Disney characters.

Here are the top trending timeless fan-favourites across Canada right now:

1. Spider-Man

Based on the classic 1971 children’s book, The Lorax serves as a cautionary tale about environmental destruction and corporate greed. The popular Halloween costume is the Lorax, aka the Guardian: a small, orange, mustached creature that pops out of a tree stump.
